Attacking Rosalina

If for some reason you feel the urge to attack Rosalina you can do this by going to the room she is in, zoom in and aim at her - press B and you will throw a Star Bit at her, she will then jump up in terror.

Beating Cosmic Mario in Honeyhive Galaxy

Perform as many long jumps as possible to reach your goal quicker and increase your chance of winning.

Death records

When you collect the last star in the Grand Finale galaxy it will update the file of your save game to show information about how many times you lost lives on your route to completing the game.

Easy lives in Comet Observatory

Run around collecting all of the 1-UP Mushrooms in the Comet Observatory, then when you have got them all go into a Dome, come back out and the 1-Up Mushrooms will all have respawned so you can collect them again. Once the red star is unlocked the 1-Up Mushrooms will respawn again.

Fruit-tastic

After you collect 9,999 Star Bits at the hub, all coconuts will change into watermelons.

Grand Finale Galaxy

After collecting 120 stars as Luigi, challenge and defeat Bowser to unlock the Grand Finale Galaxy, it will from then be accessible by both Mario and Luigi.

Higher Jumps

If you need to reach an item and even the triple jump doesn't get you high enough, then during the triple jump at the peak of your third jump start to spin and it will take you slightly higher to help you get to those just-out of reach items.

Homing attack

Spin in mid air then straight after press Z to hit whatever's nearest to you.

Idle time

If the game is left untouched for 1 minute or more, Mario will go to sleep!

Play as Luigi

After collecting 120 stars, go to Rosalina who will be on the Comet Observatory and request a rematch with Bowser. Once you beat him for a second time you will unlock and alternate ending sequence, as the credits finish it will tell you that Luigi is now playable, he is faster than Mario and Jumps higher but doesn't have as good traction.

Quick start in Honeyhive Galaxy

When you are about to start the race against Cosmic Mario hold forward, press Z and hold it until "2" comes up on the 3-2-1 countdown to race start, then release it immediately pressing A, if done correctly you will get a quicker start and Mario will turn yellow briefly.
