Unlockable characters
There are six (known) characters available to be unlocked in Mario Sports Mix, we’ve put together a table below letting you know which unlockable characters you can get and the requirements for unlocking them.
| Character | Requirements for unlock |
| Black Mage | Complete star road located on the Star Cup map twice in tournament mode, Complete Star Road 3 times to unlock Black Mage for three other sports. |
| Cactuar | Either play a total of 60 games, or in tournament mode defeat Cactuar on the hidden path |
| Moogle | Clear the Mushroom Cup slime – play 28 games or defeat him on a hidden path in tournament mode. |
| Ninja | Complete Star Road located on the Star Cup map once in tournament mode |
| Slime | Win 28 games |
| White Mage | Complete Star Road, located on the Star Cup map twice in tournament mode |
Unlockable stages
There are eight (known) stages available to be unlocked in Mario Sports Mix, and we’ve done a table just like the one for unlockable characters telling you their names and how to unlock them.

| Bowser’s Castle | Defeat Bowser in Star Cup |
| Daisy Garden | Complete Flower Cup. Note: stage doesn’t work for Volleyball |
| Ghost Ship | Play 40 matches |
| Koopa Beach | Complete a match in tournament mode that is played on Koopa Beach |
| Peach’s Castle | Complete the Mushroom Cup |
| Starship | Complete the Star Cup |
| Waluigi Pinball | Play 35 matches. Note: stage doesn’t work for Basketball |
| Wario Factory | Complete a match that is played on Wario factory in tournament mode. |
Unlockable Tournament difficulty level – Hard
If you complete all cups on normal mode you’ll unlock hard mode
