Super Mario Bros. Super Show Cartoon Episode 12 – Brooklyn Bound
In the Snow World, Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Toadstool, exhausted and hungry, weakly venture forth through a snowy field, mentioning that the hordes of Koopa Khan are after them. As he walks forward, Luigi suddenly falls and begins to be blown through the air by the powerful wind of the Snow World, with Princess Toadstool, Toad and Mario being blown away with him.
Eventually, Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Toad land safely on the ground; however, Luigi lands facedown in a large pile of snow, complaining that he is beginning to despise being in the Mushroom World and constantly being chased by Koopa Khan. Grabbing the legs of the struggling Luigi, Mario pulls him from the snow and agrees with his words, saying he is also beginning to want to go back home to Brooklyn, which he misses dearly.
Hearing Mario, Princess Toadstool begins to feel sorry for him and decides to help him and Luigi get back home, no matter what. Just as Princess Toadstool says this though, Koopa Khan, along with several of his Snifit minions, who are riding Ostros, appear. Seeing Koopa Khan, Toad tells Mario, Luigi and Princess Toadstool to follow him into a nearby entrance to a cave.
Following Toad into the cave entrance, Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool find themselves trapped, with a brick wall standing before them. With Koopa Khan's Snifit henchmen before him, Luigi pulls a nearby lever on the wall, which causes the floor of the room to pull apart, dropping him, Mario, Princess Toadstool and Toad plummeting into a pit as Koopa Khan and his Snifit followers watch them in amusement.
Falling downwards, Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool manage to successfully grab some pipes jutting from the walls; hanging from these, Mario comments that they must have been created by a great plumber, after saying this, Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool suddenly hear a voice below them. Looking downward, Mario and Luigi are surprised to see Salvador Drainotto, the greatest plumber in the world, below them.
Dropping down to where Salvador Drainotto is, Mario and Luigi introduce him to Toad and Princess Toadstool, saying that Salvador Drainotto was the greatest plumber ever and that everyone in Brooklyn knew who he was, until one day, he disappeared. Hearing Mario and Luigi, Salvador tells them that he has been trapped in the Mushroom Kingdom for thirteen years, but has recently gained a map that will lead him to a drainpipe back to his home in Brooklyn.
Trivia & Bloopers
- In the original version, when Salvador Drainotto says, "Not just really great, sonny!" Mario's mouth is moving instead. This is fixed in the French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Latin American Spanish dubs. In the same vein, when Mario asks Princess Toadstool to come with them to Brooklyn, she replies "No," but Mario's mouth is moving instead.
- When Mario and Luigi are excited to go back to Brooklyn, Mario's mouth moves, but no sound can be heard.
- When Drainotto says he could make an underground river with some help, he has four fingers on each hand instead of five.
- When Mario and his friends cross the bridge, they are almost to the other side, but when Koopa Khan appears, they are in the middle.
- Though Salvador Drainotto never makes another direct appearance in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, he makes an indirect cameo in the episode "Plummers Academy," showing a statue of him.
- This episode is one of the episodes where Toad can be seen without his cap, where he takes it off when it becomes stuck on his head.

Cher's Poochie (Live Action Sketch)
In their apartment in Mario Brothers Plumbing, Mario and Luigi are in the process of repairing a large, complicated device which is called a "Pizza Transformer". Grabbing a plug from the Pizza Transformer, Mario asks Edison, who has just burst forth from his manhole, to plug the Pizza Transformer in. Grabbing the plug, Edison enters his manhole and moves through the floor of Mario Brothers Plumbing and plugs the Pizza Transformer in; after doing this, Edison tells Mario that he has plugged in the Pizza Transformer, which Mario has turned several switches on, causing the hulking machine to flash and glow.
As Mario watches the Pizza Transformer illuminate the room, he is informed by Luigi that the doorbell of the apartment is ringing. Not hearing Luigi, Mario begins to press several buttons on the Pizza Transformer as Luigi, annoyed, decides to go answer the door himself as Mario tells him he hears the doorbell ringing.
Opening the door, Luigi is surprised to find Cher there and quickly closes the door in surprise. Telling Mario that Cher is at the door, Luigi opens it again and Cher walks in with her dog, recognizing Mario and Luigi and saying that "[her] shower still powers [her] dishwasher." Walking up to Mario, Cher tells him that she has an emergency dimple appointment with her plastic surgeon and asks Mario and Luigi if they can watch her dog, Poochie.
Agreeing to watch Poochie, Luigi hands Mario Poochie's leash and escorts Cher from the apartment, asking for her autograph as well. As Luigi sees Cher off, Mario brings Poochie to the Pizza Transformer and, after telling him to sit several times, decides to show it to him. Turning a switch on the Pizza Transformer, Mario is suddenly blasted by rays of energy and, after being shocked, falls to the floor barking as the nearby Poochie, who has seemingly gained Mario's mind, looks onward.
After Mario and Poochie's exchange of conscious, Luigi suddenly re-enters Mario Brothers Plumbing and tells Mario that he has gained Cher's autograph, right on the cheese of a pizza. Seeing Luigi, Poochie, who is in Mario's body, begins to grab his arm and bark wildly as Luigi asks what he is doing; Mario, who is in Poochie's body, responds that he is sitting nearby, wagging his tail, which startles Luigi. As Luigi stands in place, dumbstruck, Poochie begins to climb the nearby stairs of the apartment, barking and yipping wildly.
