Bowser rarely travels alone. His son, Bowser Jr., first turned up in Super Mario Sunshine in 2002, and the Magikoopa Kamek has looked after Bowser ever since he was a baby. The seven Koopalings arrived in Super Mario Bros. 3 as Bowser’s children, but in 2012 Shigeru Miyamoto said the current story is that they are not. Either way, they still serve the Koopa King.
